In practice, no beacon can send more than one kind of data simultaneously. Instead, they send the different data sequentially, one transmission very shortly, milliseconds, after the other. Many manufacturers describe this as sending data in different channels which shouldn&#8217;t be confused with different Bluetooth LE frequency channels used to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/blog\/bluetooth-le-on-the-factory-floor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"reduce the affects of wireless interference (opens in a new tab)\">reduce the affects of wireless interference<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some devices such as <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Minew (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/Minew\" target=\"_blank\">Minew<\/a> and<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" Sato (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/Sato\" target=\"_blank\"> Sato<\/a> can send 6 channels that can include iBeacon, Eddystone UID, Eddystone URL, Eddystone TLM, sensor, acceleration and device info:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/channels.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/channels.png 500w, https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/channels-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.beaconzone.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/channels-300x300.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 85vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption>Sato setup: Channel types are shown at the bottom<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Transmitting one type of data takes of the order of 1 millisecond (ms) every configurable 100ms to 10secs period. It&#8217;s during the sending that the majority of the battery power is used with the beacon sleeping between transmissions.
